I confess... I... am a foodie. I know, I know...
To me, it is difficult to top a dining experience that leaves my taste buds wanting more and my stomach screaming to stop. Being a foodie presents great opportunities for food adventures. Good or bad.
If you have an interest in following my food adventures, you can follow me on Yelp where I write about those adventures. Here's the link: My Yelp Page

So there's a lot to being a foodie. It's not just in the eating or the experience. Taste has this way of waxing nostalgia as it can trigger memories. Which is an amazing side effect of eating :)
I think a true foodie has to spend time in the kitchen and in the garden. I am in the process of embarking on my own growing adventure through the advent of hydroponics. I am building a window garden to grow some fresh, organic veggies. If you have the opportunity to travel through any of America's farmlands, I highly recommend stopping at the fruit and veggie stands that you find in these areas. It will change the way you think about food. Natural flavors are always the best and organic, non-genetically modified are, in my opinion so lacking today. Until you have tasted a tomato picked fresh from the vine, you haven't had a tomato. The stuff in the typical, chain grocery store has been shipped, sprayed and is rarely naturally fresh.

So why have I gone off on this tangent?  To be honest I recently watched a documentary, Food INC. and was appalled at what I learned about mass production in the food industry. If you care about what you are putting in your body, please watch this movie.
Food Inc.

It was, in fact, this movie that actually made me think about growing my own but I was hung up on how I would be able to accomplish this as an apartment dweller in Los Angeles. As I researched, I came upon this website that gives you, for free, designs to build your own organic, hydroponic, window garden. Organic is good for my health, Hydroponic is good for the environment, Window garden is good for my apartment decor... A win, win, win situation if there ever was one. So off I go to embark on a growing adventure :)

If you have a hankering to try out your green thumb and have tasty, fresh tomatoes, strawberries and lots of other choices, here's the link for the crowd-sourcing website that shares the plans to build your own.  Window Farms.

Sorry if this post is a little out of the norm for me on this blog but the environment and food are two things that are very important to me and I am here to share those things I deem worthy of your time :) and if you remember from my last blog post, I promised I was going to talk about food.

For my reading activities... I am still reading the Game of Thrones series and am completely swept up in the world created by these books. Still on the fourth installment, A Feast for Crows. I am taking my time with this one because there are a lot of new characters to get to know and it takes a little concentration to keep it all together with all the characters from the past books. Here's a link to the Amazon Page for the book.

Okay, so I think I have left you with a lot to think about. As always I am eager to hear your thoughts, comments and feelings.

Be Well, Let Go and Much Love and Success!!!
